Configuring Confluence Search to display only pages.

Hi.

I'm currently playing around with a trial version of a Confluence local server with intention of creating public facing documentation for my product.

I'd like to configure the search results page; currently it seems to retrieve not just pages, but images, attachments, and what not.

  • I'd like for the search to yield only pages from all spaces.
  • Additionally, I'd like the search results to display only the page titles and excerpts of the relevant pages; not portions of paragraphs from the page.
  • I'd like to hide all default filters provided in the search page and provide users instead with the option to search by LABELS only.

Would there be a way of tweaking the search to achieve the above?

Much thanks.

It's not currently possible to adjust the default behavior of Confluence Quick Search, there is a feature request for it:

This feature would allow you to specify the default search scope of the Quick Search in Confluence.

In the meantime, you could use the LiveSearch Macro in order to specify the scope of search.

Hi Brant.

I was referring to the Full Search results page rather; I'd like it to display only PAGES in its results and nothing else.

Additionally, I'd like to remove all filters except LABELS. Would this require custom CSS?

Thanks.
