I tried to upgrade our existing confluence 4.1.6 version manually to confluence 5.4.2.
I followed the steps mentioned in the atlassian documentation but I dont know where I am doing wrong but the migration is not kicking..
Below steps I followed.
There are no errors in the log file but it is just connected to HSQL db but not to existing database.
No.. Production system runs on Oracle
Does your confluence 4 run on hsql?

What does "configure the production database snapshot in server.xml" mean?
Anyway, it doesn't sound like you've followed the documentation. If you had, it would have asked you what database you want to connect to.

I mean I have configured the user which was a snapshot taken from Production user. I followed the below atlassian document for reference
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Upgrading+Confluence+Manually
I selected oracle database and entered the Username/Password but I got the below message
Following errors Occured : Confluence tables already exist in the selected database. Confluence data already exists in the selected database. You can either overwrite the existing data or go back to the database selection page:
Does it sounds something wrong?

Hi Srinivas,
How did you overcome this problem? I am trying to migrate Confluence from one server to another. I took a MySQL dump of existing db and restored it on my new DB Server. When I try configuring the DB from Confluence Setup Wizard, I get the same message as you got!
After all, we need all that data right? Why is it prompting an option to overwrite the existing data?
Would someone please help me overcome this problem so that I can go-ahead and complete the setup of my application.
