The Jira Issues Macro instructions mentions that to enable rendering HTML from Jira applications in Confluence you need application link between Jira and Confluence, and if you don't have it, the description will appear in the Jira issues macro like this:
<p>This is<ul><li>the description</li><li>of my issue</li></ul></p>
We have just updated Jira/Confluence to 9.12 and 8.5.5 and after that this functionality stopped to work. I have removed the application link between Jira and Confluence and recreated it but this does not help. HTML is still not getting rendered in Jira Issues Macro.
Did somebody have a similar issue? I don't know what to check anymore, I did google a whole lot and tried with official support, but our support just expired as they won't sell server editions anymore, so I can't ask there.
I see this was fixed in 8.5.6. just days after our support licence expired:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-94113
Too bad this does not help us, as we cannot extend server licence anymore. Probably I can't just update the Jira Issues Macro files to fix it in our instance...
I did find now an Application Links Troubleshooting Guide but of no help, I see in both applications that there is a two-way application link in both apps, but the HTML in description (it is a custom field like description with a wiki renderer) does not get rendered.
