Custom fields do not work in Jira Macro

Stephanie Groot April 5, 2019

I'm using the Jira Macro to display release notes in Confluence. Because you can't customize release notes in Jira Cloud, I created a custom field. The Jira Macro on my Confluence page will show the list of issues if I used standard fields in the display options. However, the Jira Macro will not display the list of issues if I include the custom field in the display options; an error box displays with a link to view the list in Jira.

Does anyone have an idea of how to make this work?

Hello there!

Stephanie, I created a Custom Field called COLOR. You can see it here:

When I insert the custom field in my Jira issue macro, it shows up:

So, could you give us a little more info on this behaviour? We can try and replicate the issue:

  1. What is the field type?
  2. Was it working previously?
  3. What is the issue type used?
  4. Are other custom fields showing as expected?

Looking forward to your reply Stephanie!

Hi Diego, I am experiencing the same behaviour.

  • Field Type does not seem to matter, I tried the following:
    • Date
    • Label
    • Select List
  • Issue Type does not seem to matter
    • Story
    • Task
  • I am only expecting this behaviour in one instance, Confluence version 6.3.4 Jira version 7.2.10

Any other factors that could be relevant?

It must have been a fluke because everything is working now.

Thank you for responding, Richard.
