Deleting usernames that come from an LDAP directory

How to remove / delete usernames from Confluence that come from a directory (OpenLDAP)? These usernames have NOT created any content.

We need to do that because existing usernames (which have contents already) will be renamed to the will-be-deleted usernames (which does NOT have contents).

Is it ever possible? Maybe direct SQL queries?

Can't you just kick them out of all the confluence users groups and then just synchronize again? Just wondering.
