Error with installing Confluence service

Hi I've been having a problem with installing Confluence 5.9.5 or Confluence 6.0.  When I do the install and try to start the service, I get the following error (screenshot):

Can someone help me figure out how to resolve this problem, or "clean" the system so I can do a fresh install (if that's what it takes).  Much appreciated!!!

I look in the logs and from earlier log entry and I see this:  " The Atlassian Confluence.0 Confluence010316142948 service terminated with service-specific error Incorrect function.."

Thanks Stephen - I think I did see that article when doing some research on the issue.  Let me try it again and see how it works.  Thanks!
