How do I move an installation of Confluence?

I would like to move an instance of Confluence to another machine. Do I need a license specific to that new machine, and if so, how do I generate it?

Hi Chloe,

You don't need a license specific to that machine if you are just migrating your data from one server to another because the Server ID will be changed to the one on your license when you restore your data. So when you export/import the XML then you will be able to install the old license into the new server.
