I understand that we can have different user tiers for Jira and Confluence.

If the whole company use Confluence but only the SW people use Jira, how will embedded jira information (e.g. JQL query using the Jira macro) be visualized in Confluence for those that do not have Jira access?

Will they still see the information or will it be greyed out or similar?

Hi Anders,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to meet you.

Jira content embedded in Confluence uses the Jira Issues Macro. Since this is using an Application Link to Jira, the visibility is controlled by Jira. Therefore, to answer your question, your Confluence users will need to have permission to browse the project in Jira.

Unlicensed users will receive a message like this:

Jira Project doesn't exist or you don't have permission to view it.png
I hope that is clear, but do let me know if you have any questions about that.
Shannon
