I am consistently getting space alerts and I have a lot of snapshots sitting there on our DB.
Should we go about removing those snapshots daily or is there any recommended rotation from Atlassian on those snapshots removal? I came across this page
Considerations for Jira index snapshots but it didn't mention when those should be removed.
There doesn't seem to be a way to automatically remove those snapshots so I'm assuming we would have to manually remove those snapshots at some sort of cadence.
We have our index recovery running every night at 1am into the snapshot directory.
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The snapshots are mostly there for reversing a failed indexing run by hand (rather than fixing what caused it to fail and then re-running), so it's going to be very unlikely you need more than the last one. (Keep two or three if you're feeling paranoid)
Hello Nic,
Thank you for that feedback and I will definitely be keeping at least two just in case.
