It does not automatically, but you could stop watching the individual pages and therefore stop receiving those emails.

Daily Updates is a setting in your email preferences as a summary of activity
The individual "instantaneous" alert email is a function of setting a page/space Watch via the "eye" icon on the page, or setting the Autowatch in your email settings for any page where you have created content
Note individual alerts give attachment activity (can be annoying if someone is uploading 100 attachments) whilst Daily Updates does not.
