We have an enterprise instance of our confluence environment and we want to make sure there's consistancy with our users and their profile pictures. We'd prefer the default cartoon avatars weren't an option and instead we used corporate images. Is it possible to change these avatars? Or is it possible to remove them?
Hello Sean,
Actually you just can change the profile picture directly in the user profile by the user, please see below:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Choosing+a+Profile+Picture
To change for all of the users as a default unfortunately is not possible and we also have an improvement request for this, please check here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-14368
I hope this helps to clarify this topic, if you need more assistance please feel free to raise a support ticket at our support.atlassian.com and we will be glad to help you.
Best Regards,
LJ.
Yeah I know user's can change their own pictures. I just wanted to limit the default options to either be something I specify specifically or 1 avatar option.

have you tried to replcae the default pictures in your confluence installation. They should be located in your confluence images directory.
Maybe this could be a solution

I've seen other people mention this option but I don't think our IT department would approve of us changing the installation files. Also, won't the next upgrade overwrite our changes anyways? Means we'd have to keep doing it over and over with each upgrade.
