New Service Accounts

Stacy Monnahan August 7, 2025

I already have service accounts in my system, is there a way to just 'change' them to be this new group without compromising things already set up?  I don't want a 'generated' email as I already have accounts called something like licensetracking, or OperationsServices that has an associated email

@Stacy Monnahan have you found a workaround? We have a "User" that is 100% a Service Account, and I'd love to move it!

Hi @Stacy Monnahan

Please explain a bit more,

What do you mean by "just change them to be this new group ..."

Stacy Monnahan August 7, 2025

Under Directory it has Service Accounts as an Option, when I go there it wants me to give the service account a name and says it will auto-generate an email.  but I already have services accounts in the Managed accounts section, so I'm wanting to transfer accounts that are already service accounts so they fall into the Service account area.  If I re-create them, then I have to ensure that anywhere they're already set up is fixed, and it would be easier to just flag an account that already exists.+Snag_ff5f7df.pngSnag_ff604c0.pngSnag_ff63e5e.png

Hi @Stacy Monnahan

The documentation tells nothing about this email.

I think it's best to reach out to Atlassian Support and ask them what this means.

Please provide the feedback from support here, can be useful for others as well.

@Marc - Devoteam

apparently this is not supported yet, if you have service accounts previously created you have to recreate the new way in order to realize this new functionality

Hi @Stacy Monnahan

I found out as well.

This option now has become general available.

An you can only create account, and they will be created an email address, an indeed you can move already company created account to that section.

Stacy Monnahan August 12, 2025

@Marc - Devoteam - Are you saying that I can "indeed" move pre-existing service accounts?  I was told I couldn't, could you share how to do this?
