Allow users to easily subscribe to blog posts, get list of subscribers and add individual account manually?

We use certain confluence spaces for communities of practice. However, we haven't managed to do these 3 things:

1. Find an easy way to allow participants to easily subscribe to the blog posts. I would like it to be as easy as clicking a SUBSCRIBE button that I can add on specific pages. 
2. Find out how many people are actually subscribing. Get a list or a number at the least. 
3. Manually add a user that we want to follow the blogpost, even though the user can remove this later on.

I'm open to plugins or other kinds of solutions.

Any help out there?

Is there an option to subscribe to a specific author? Whenever an author posts the subscribers will be notified?

Better Blogs currently assists with 1 and 2 and we'll work to deliver 3 by the end of January.

SpaceAuditor system audit and statistics could help you with certain things: showing content subscribers. However it lacks the functionality to subscribe users to blogposts... more a statistics thing

Hi Alex, thank you for sharing. Do you happen to know if this plugin allows you to see what users are watching for NEW blog posts in a space? We can manage users to watch for any changes in this space, but not for new blog posts.. thanks!!
