I have a created a template in a space but I am finding that users are dropping that page where ever they happen to be located before creating it. The users are not navigating to the proper parent page before creating these children.
I would like to have the template setup so that it automatically falls underneath a specific parent. This appears to already be possible as the "Meeting Notes" work in this fashion. If I am on the main page and select to make a meeting note it will automatically be created underneath the meeting notes section. How do I mimic this?
Hi Kevin!
You can only achieve this by creating a blueprint and that can only be done by programming this behavior, you can't do it from Confluence, another way would be to add a page being the father of this template that you added and in that parent page add the Create from template macro and if users create from there that page will always be the parent of the pages created from there, but that won't stop the users from creating from the create button and it will locate as it is working now.
Excellent! Thank you. Yes, the process is relatively new, so I suspect if I tell them they need to access the template by clicking the macro button, they will accept that to be true. Plus it saves them a fraction of time.
