Cannot connect to confluence database using domain account Microsoft SQL Server 2016

Karen Waters December 12, 2019

Hello,

I am currently having issues connecting my confluence to my database using a domain account. If i use a SQL account it works fine.

I tried to follow the instruction on Cannot connect Confluence to MS SQL Server using a domain account but still no avail. I am also on confluence 7.1 which the error says JTDS is no longer supported and should use jdbc. Is there any updated guide for newer versions of jira?

In the logs it says application unable to contact database using that user.

Any ideas?

Hi @Karen Waters - for full JDBC information, see here https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf71/database-setup-for-sql-server-979423872.html

  1. Check SQL Database for Confluence > Security > Users and make sure the user has dbo schema and is a dbo owner
  2. Try to mock the login using the username and password (manual verify the user has permissions to connect)
  3. You could create a SQL user and password to avoid any domain account issues.

Please advise if this was helpful or if you have additional questions.
