We are using JIRA macro to display total. While the edit view shows accurate results, confluence final view doesn't in some cases.
JQL Query works fine in Jira; Macro results works fine in edit mode which proves that there are no issues with the query itself
any known issues with page rendering ?

By any chances you are using a proxy in front of confluence/JIRA or using SSL communication?
I had that kind of problem in the past and instead of investigating this in the network level I created a second connector to bypass those just for the application links as described in below guide:
As our network is secure I did not saw any problems in making a "un secure" "proxy less" communication between JIRA and Confluence.
It worked as a charm btw
