Confluence MySQL database setup

Donald Kemp November 12, 2020

I'm trying to follow the steps to install Confluence with MySQL (JIRA is installed on the same server and using MySQL) I'm trying to follow the steps in the following link (https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf78/database-setup-for-mysql-1021242680.html), at step 2 it says to start the MySQL installation wizard, that does not exist, but MySQL Installer does exist, so I assume that is what it meant to start. I selected the option Reconfigure, but all the options mentioned in the link above does not exist. So now I'm unable to continue with the database setup.

Hi Donald,

if I understood it corectly Jira is up and running, should not be touched but Confluence is a new installation which fails, correct?

I am unsure for the remaining part of your question - basically when pointing to a new database (Jira and Confluence database must be kept separate) the installation should go well.

For using MySQL you would need to install a driver for Confluence which is described in the article you have linked. Make sure, that the file representing the driver is present.

Can you probably provide screenshots with further explanations in which step the installer exactly fails?

Thanks,
Daniel
