I could not get the Confluence 'Topic' mention in JIRA

Cindy Tan November 28, 2018

When I Insert JIRA Issue/Filter in confluence and selected Table as the display option, I could not get the confluence 'Topic' being mention in the JIRA that I inserted.

I tested, the confluence 'Topic' being mentioned in JIRA when I selected Single issue as the display option.

How could I get the confluence 'Topic' being mention in JIRA when I am using Table as the display option in confluence?

Thanks.

Hello Cindy and welcome to the Community!

We need some additional details to understand what you are attempting to gain access to or resolve. With that said, can you please provide answers to the following;

  1. Are you attempting to view linked Confluence pages to Jira issues?
  2. Can you please provide a screenshot (strike/blur sensitive content) of what you’re seeing?
  3. What are we defining ‘topic’ as? Is that a page title or label?

Once we have some additional information we should be better able to get you an answer to what you’re trying to accomplish.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you so much for your reply.

When I Mentioned the JIRA in the Confluence in the form of table as below.
Confluence mentioned JIRA.PNG

I would like to have the Confluence document title display in the JIRA as well.

However, by using the Table Display option the Confluence document was not mention in the JIRA.
JIRA shows Mentioned Confluence Title.PNG

Hope you can help me on this. Thank you.

 Best regards,

Cindy

Hello Cindy,

The Jira Issue/Filter macro is a reporting macro and not an issue linking macro. From what I am understanding, you are wanting to link a Confluence page to a Jira issue. There are multiple ways to link a Confluence page back to a Jira issue.

To manually link a Confluence page to a Jira issue, complete the following:

  1. Open the issue that you want to link to a Confluence page.
  2. Select more (•••) > Link > Confluence Page.
  3. Choose the relevant Confluence site and specify the Confluence page you want to link to. You can either enter the exact page URL (e.g. http://<confluence-server>/display/ds/Welcome+to+the+Confluence+Demonstration+Space) or search for the page.
  4. Add a comment to describe why you're linking these issues and click Link

Source document: Linking Issues

Additionally, there is a blog post about multiple ways of linking Jira issues to Confluence. More can be found at the blog post, Link Jira issues to Confluence pages automatically.

There is more for linking Jira issues, you can find additional options here:

Linking a Confluence page to an epic

Linking a Confluence page to a sprint

I hope this provides some guidance and clarifies the usage of the Jira issue macro.
