Multiple spaces exported when trying export single space.

Bibin October 14, 2021

We are trying export single space but we found that it exported related spaces also.

We followed steps mention by atlassian for exporting single space from confluence.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml-139475.html

Thanks & Regards

Hi @Bibin Mohan Kareethra

I recently came across a similar issue with my client; on that occasion, the space export zip was not successfully imported on a new Confluence instance and created a lot of inconsistent data in the database.

The following error appeared in the atlassian-confluence.log:

ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "uk_jp1ad5yufsih5r7lqrygakpug"
OR
Caused by: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'UK_jp1ad5yufsih5r7lqrygakpug'

Is it happening in your instance? Is there any error message displayed when importing the space?

To solve that issue, I followed the article Importing a space fails with 'could not execute statement' error in Confluence Server to troubleshoot the root cause and applied the workaround to have a clean space export zip without multiple spaces.

I also followed the After a failed space import, it's not possible to re-import because of leftover space data to clean up all the related spaces after an unsuccessful attempt.

Finally, the space export was generated correctly and imported on the new confluence instance.

I hope it helps. If this answer helps solve the problem, please come back and mark this answer as solved to help other community members with the same challenge. If not, you are welcome to share more insights or your solution as well.

Cheers,

Alex
