We have wrapped a project and are moving to making it View only for the project members.
However, when we edited the project's Confluence Space permissions to be View only for a set group of members, the Space could not be viewed by clicking on Project Pages in the Jira project as though they had desynced and gave the user a "Connect Space" notification instead. Admin were still able to see the Confluence Space synced to the Jira project by clicking on the Project Pages button.
In troubleshooting, when we gave back the user's Add Pages permission in the Confluence Space and the user was once again able to see the Space by clicking on the Project Pages button in the Jira project.
Is there a way to keep the Space permission as View only for a specific group of users and keep the Space viewable to those users through clicking on the Project Pages button in the Jira project?
Hello @Emma Rausch!
That is an interesting behavior. I believe that I was able to replicate it. I see the following in Jira:
As you pointed out, I was able to reach this by setting the Confluence space as view only for my user and user group.
With this in mind, I started adding other permissions to the space. When I added the "Add pages" one, I was able to see the pages once more in Jira:
In Confluence, if I have only the "View" permissions, I am perfectly able to see the space content, just as expected.
With this in mind, I need to ask you for a few things:
- Screenshots of the permission scheme of the affected space
- Screenshots of what you see in Jira when Confluence permissions are view only
From my side, I will sync with the Jira team and check for further details on the expected behavior of the Project Pages feature.
Let us hear from you!
Hi Diego,
Thank you so much for your reply! Here is our current permission scheme of the affected space and a screenshot of what we see in Jira when the Confluence permission is view only.
As you noted, this second image shows the error we receive when we click on the Project Pages button in Jira while the Confluence space is in View-only mode.
Thank you so much for your help! We're looking forward to your reply.
