Implementing and Watching Votes on Jira Cloud Issues in Confluence Cloud

Is it possible to watch `upvotes` and `downvotes` on JIRA issues from within a Confluence page? I would like to do the following:

a) Create a list of issues we've created regarding a certain topic. If I can get this to be an automatic list that's generated in Confluence from the issues that have that JIRA component/tag would be AMAZING. If not, I can hand-create the list.

b) Place a link to the JIRA issue that represents that topic after it. It would be awesome to get these to auto-generate on a specific keyboard entry or macro, by JIRA issue.

c) Place a voting element for each issue right in Confluence. I would like the users to be able to upvote or downvote an issue right from that Confluence page.

d)Place `upvote` and `downvote` information after each piece of content that it applies to. I would love if this, too, could be auto-generated with some sort of keyboard entry or macro within Confluence (the number of each AND the text or icons). But if I could just get the NUMBER of each to auto-populate, that would be great.

If anyone knows how this can be done—or even how any *portion* of it could be done—I'd love to hear it. Thanks in advance!

Hello again, Charisma,

The Jira Issues Macro will allow you to include "Votes" as a column in the display options, and you can filter per component and project through JQL.

Jira doesn't have downvotes, so you won't be able to display this.

There's also not a way to vote on an issue via Confluence, so perhaps you can add a note macro to mention to users if they want to vote on an issue they can open it in a new tab?

Let me know if you have any questions about that!

Regards,

Shannon

Oh neat! Thanks! I have set up a test project now. Hopefully it will do exactly what we need. Questions for Confluence has been pretty confusing. I'm also trying out Trello integration which also allows us to vote on stuff and embed the boards or cards into Confluence. Something will work! Thanks again.

Hi Charisma,

With Confluence Cloud, it is not possible.

Have a look at Advanced Use of the Jira Issue Collector:

Embedding the issue collector

Embedding the issue collector in your Confluence Site

The issue collector can be embedded into Confluence using the HTML Include Macro. Note that using the HTML Include Macro would require you to embed the issue collector code separately on each page.

The issue collector was previously embeddable in Confluence via a User Macro, allowing you to create a re-usable issue collector macro that other Confluence users can embed into their pages. This option is currently unavailable due to a known bug:  CONFSERVER-26104 - Some JavaScripts are not executed if included in User MacroGATHERING IMPACT

Embedding the issue collector is not currently supported in Confluence Cloud.

You can vote on the feature request for this here: CONFCLOUD-44311

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

Shannon
