Is integration between Jira version 7.x compatible with Confluence 5.8?

Anne C November 14, 2018

I need to integrate latest JIRA instance to existing confluence.

JIRA is version 7 latest, while Confluence is 5.8.

I cannot test now as JIRA is yet to be introduced to my organization. This info will be helpful for us to plan if we need a Confluence upgrade.

I find the following reference https://confluence.atlassian.com/applinks/application-links-version-matrix-779174762.html?_ga=2.76914512.411892993.1541996320-1162178810.1520846730 but cannot seem to get the answer out from the table.

Please help enlighten.

Thanks!

Dear @Anne C,

application links are designed to work across several versions of Atlassian products. It can be expected that they use internally their REST APIs to communicate. The APIs are most time downward compatible. This means "Yes, 5.8 will work with latest Jira."

But: regardless what is written elsewhere, as an admin you are responsible for the proper work of your services. This means, you have to verify, first.

I recommend to get a developer license of confluence and connect this new server with the latest Jira (evaluation license) server.

So long

Thomas
