Restrict access to Jira links in Confluence.

Yurii Chernov November 22, 2018

Hi everyone,

We have our JIRA server instance set to be private so only employees can access it.

Also, we have CONFLUENCE cloud instance, where we were going to provide the reports to our customers.

We would like to let our customers edit the pages on their spaces, but don't want them to edit Jira links, including Jira Issues Macro.

The reason - if customer can edit these links or macro - he can get access to the info from  other customers' tickets.

Any suggestions of how to do that will be appreciated!

Hi @Yurii Chernov

i’d Look into creating a page for Jira that can’t be edited by users and using a macro to display its content in the user editable page

Thanks, Tom, but It doesn't work for us, as user still have no access to Jira data.

Hi

the user access to Jira data is controlled by the Jira permissions so you will have to make some grants if there are users with no access.

you can restrict to browse only via the project permission scheme

if you to restrict even further then use security levels to hide issues from users.
