I have a request from one of our user groups who need an auto-refresh functionality for the lists of Jira issues that Confluence's "Jira issues" macro displays. Is there any way to configure either the macro or the Confluence page it is embedded in to automatically reload the status of issues after a set time? Or is there even a possibility to have these updates in real time?
Many thanks for all hints!
Hello Jurgen,
There is a bug in Confluence for this behavior:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-37385
I recommend to vote and comment into it to increase the popularity and priority to be fixed.
Cheers,
Rodrigo
Oaehmm .... AFAIK, the search macro is executed each time the page is displayed. When a new ticket matches the list or the status or title of an issue changes, the next user calling the wiki page should see it changed.(Works in my Conf 4.3 Setup, just tested it).
So that might be a caching issue with your client or proxy. Or do you mean a page reload - that would be a page-refresh of the complete wikipage, not just the JIRA macro. For this, you would have to include a META Tag in the page template - maybe there is a plugin or confluence setting out there for this, or you just manually include this into the page template header.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to get by without having to insert a meta refresh-tag, as that would make working with normal pages tedious or sometimes impossible (think of entering comments). -- The request was aimed at a workgroup leader having a page open for a long time and nonetheless getting status updates from the Jira issues macro in near real time. We are using Jira not only for software development, but also for project management, so it's common for lots of Tasks to change their status every hour or so.
