Hi everybody,
in Confluence we are using Jira for User Management. After renaming two users i have see the following weird behavior. Although Full name is updated after synchronising the directories, the personal profile is not updated. I can see that from the quick search box. When typing the new full name there is now suggestion but when i'm typing the old full name there is a suggestion of old user profile.
Any ideas how to update personal profile?
Happy holidays
Cheers,
Kostas
Hello Kostas,
If you mean by rename, change the actual username, then it won't take effect.
Profiles are stored in table OS_PROPERTYENTRY, and follows as CWD_%username%. This is where Confluence keeps its profile, so if a user has a different username, it is a new user. Basically that.
If it references the old profile, might be due the common name, and therefore why it pick up the old account.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Guilherme
Hey Guilherme,
nope i didn't change the username. I have just changed the Full Name of user. The username is the same. Is very strange that in the search box there is no result for the updated Full Name only for the old one.
It references the old profile but when you click it, redirects you to the Updated profile. New Full Name is tottally different from the old one.

Kostas
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Then in this case might be cache. You could try going in the Cache menu, Browse > Confluence Admin > Cache Statistics, and then Flush all, its also worth trying to re-sync with JIRA.

To be more precise. User profile is updated, but in the search box if you type the new full name there is no suggestion. If you type the old Full Name you have a suggestion and if you choose it redirects you to the updated user profile
