The following issue happened in Jira Cloud, and not in Confluence.

In edit mode, the table with numbered column is rendered with custom column widths for the other columns.

However, after saving, in view mode, the table is rendered with distributed column width, including the numbered column

Is there an account or project setting that is causing this issue? I do not have admin access to Jira Cloud and will not be able to provide further information on these settings.

It was working before, and the issue just appeared one day

Updates - 2025-06-26: Clarified in the question that the issue is happening in Jira and not in Confluence

@Jun Wei Ng welcome to the Atlassian community

I was able to recreate the issue.  By adding the numbered column the table no longer honors the custom width.  I would suggest having your admin submit a support request to Atlassian to see if this is a known design choice or a bug.

I think it's a bug, since when you are in "edit" mode you can see the previous behaviour of columns having a customized width.
