Hi,
I have a template with 3 variables.
Using Confluence Automation, I want a page created from this template and two sub-pages to be automatically created with a manual trigger.
I'm using Prompt for Input values so the user enters 3 values.
- I'm trying to get these 3 values entered by the user to replace the template variables, but I can't. Do you know if this is possible?
- Otherwise, I create the page without using the template. I manage to use the values entered by the user, but I lose some of the formatting of the page layout (2 columns, information panel). Is it possible to create a page via automation with these elements?
Thank you for your suggestions
regards,
Hi @Mélanie Liguet ,
Rich text in 'Publish new page in Confluence' action is quite new > see announcement here.
That being said, I've just checked and yes, there's no way to add layouts and panels (yet).
You could maybe ask on the official announcement post are there plans to add those features there as well.
Anyway, do those two sub-pages also contain values/variables from the prompt, or are they 'static'?
The reason I'm asking is the whole concept/use case—could you just use a template with variables? This would create a parent page, and then automation would be triggered once that page is created, creating those two sub-pages. 👀
I'm afraid there is no clean solution to this and you'll have to use some alternative ways or workarounds to implement this scenario.
Cheers,
Tobi
Thank you for your reply;
Both subpages contain values/variables from the prompt only in the title. This is to avoid having two pages with the same title.
I also think that this is not possible, I will indeed think about an alternative.
