Hello Community,

I've been working on a Confluence Cloud page where I've embedded a JIRA Issue/Filter to display many tickets. I want to add a search function directly on the Confluence page so that users can find specific tickets more easily.

I tried using the "HTML Template Embed for Confluence" app to add custom HTML and JavaScript for the search function. Still, it seems that the JavaScript within the iframe created by the app cannot interact with the table generated by the JIRA Issue/Filter macro.

Here's what I've attempted so far:

  1. I embedded the JIRA Issue/Filter into the Confluence page to display the tickets.
  2. I added a text input field to serve as the search box using the "HTML Template Embed for Confluence" app.
  3. I added JavaScript to filter the table rows based on the search term. However, this doesn't work because JavaScript can't access the table generated by the JIRA Issue/Filter macro.

I understand that Confluence Cloud has strict security policies that prevent custom JavaScript from running outside of iframes. However, I am wondering if there's any other way to achieve this search functionality directly on the Confluence page without having to navigate away from the page or use JIRA's search function.

If you have encountered a similar situation or have any recommendations on how to add this search function, please let me know. I'm open to using other apps from the Atlassian Marketplace or any other solutions you might have.

I appreciate your help!

The only way I can think of would be to write a custom macro and render the Jira issues yourself. I don't think there is a way around the security policies.
