Hi community and Atlassian Team,
Does It possible, from my Ideas Board in my Discovery Project, to group my work Items by a Custom Field? I'm modelling in Jira Discovery my custom views of ideation staging, and I came across a limitation or absent of knowledge of how to do It.
I missed this feature as a basic prism overview of classifications and isolation of items that I really need to works It in my projects.
Otherwise the user is forced to create a board for each case from same project. which is very counterproductive.
Regards.
Hi @Jaderson B_ Kisiolar , I'm not sure I understood your question:
did you try this feature, from any view?
@Jaderson B_ Kisiolar as @Tanguy Crusson mentions u can group by.
Are you referring to grouping by JPD fields "Custom Fields"(like Status, Owner, Impact/Effort and any field u create inside JPD), or do you mean grouping by a custom field that you created in the project?
Just want to clarify because the “Group by” option only supports JPD fields, custom fields from "Fields" are not supported.

What is "a custom field from 'Fields'"? I'm a bit lost here 😅

Hi @Tanguy Crusson my bad dint explain it in the best way
When I said “custom field from Fields,” I meant Jira platform custom fields added via global fields (like labels or select lists from Jira). As far as i know JPD currently supports grouping by JPD custom fields (those created inside the Discovery project), but not by Jira global fields.
At least this is what remember, if am wrong please correct me 🙏

Gotcha - no that should definitely work, here's a demo:

Thank you by your reply. You illustrated with the snapshot exactly what I am facing in this same feature (options box).
The Problem: With the "Group By" feature, I cannot group the work Items listed in the list board view, by custom fields created in global scope for the Product Discovery.
The expected: To group by the items by custom field created in user global scope.
How to reproduce:
1. In a newer or existing Product Discovery project, creates some work items for evaluates the classification;
2. Just creates a custom field in a user global scope - In my case, i did tried with a primitive type (text);
3. After updated the changes and reloads the board, just try to apply a group by Items by the newer created field.
As you can see, the recently created custom field don't show up in the option box.
I has tried with differ manners and could'nt work It (I am Software Engineer).
Update: I will see your last provides video and try to reproduces in my env and comes to give feedback.
Thanks!

Ah ok, it's easy then: we don't support grouping by "short text" field.
You should create a select/multi-select field for that instead.
