Automatic Invitation eMail to Customer

Dear all,

I am defining my list of Organizations where everyone of them has an email or multiple email contact available as Customer. How can I be sure that the automatic email sent by Jira to those email contacts has been correctly delivered? There is a log I can check in order to see that all the email address has correctly received the invitation? I did a test with an intentionally wrong email address but I'm worried that I haven't received any non-delivery messages even if the email isn’t correct.

Any suggestion?

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

On Jira Service Management, currently, there is no option to view outgoing email logs and administrators also won’t be notified if a notification failed to be delivered.

There are feature requests suggesting improvements for that:

Thank you for your reply, another question, how can I resend the invitation to access the Jira Portal in case some Customer have issue because they forgot to access the first time and meantime the URL has expired?

Hi Sergio,

Currently, it’s not possible to resend an invitation to customers. 

For now, the workaround is:

  • The initial invitation containing the link to set a password will only ever be sent once, when the user is initially created. After this time, the Forgot password link can be used.
  • Invitations to different Service Desks send a new invite email each time, and these are what can be re-sent.

You can also delete their account from the site and invite them again or also set a password. On Cog icon > User management > Jira Service Management there is an option "Change password" where you can create a temporary one and then the customer will be able to change on their profile.

Thank you so much Angelica for your support, this sounds acceptable, even if I think it could be very useful have the possibility like an Admin to resend the URL.
