Now say in Active directory, I have an employee Ajay and his manager is Rohan. Now isn't it possible that when Ajay raises an internal ticket, using active directory it sets approver to Ajay automatically?
Hi vatsal,
We do something similar in our service desk, but we use the properties of the user. We have a property "Manager" for our users which contains the AD/username of each staff's manager. We then use a simple post function (add-on Jira Workflow Toolbox) that reads the property of the reporter and writes it's value into the Approver field for the issue.
Works very well
Susan
Hi Susan,
how did you import this field "Manager" into a Jira profil of a user, via app?

Hi Enrico,
We manually create the user Property Manager and a value as part of the onboarding process for a new employee.
