Can I be alerted when a total number of tickets is reached?

We are using JIRA to accept RSVPs for events.  User would like an alert when the total number of RSVPs (they would all be YES) reaches a certain number so he can hide the form.  

Other than having a dashboard where he can look to see how many RSVPs he has, is there some way to generate an email if a filter reaches a certain number of tickets, or is there some other solution?

Hi Nancy,

I would try Automation for Jira.  It allows for scheduled (say every 1 or 5 mins) to run a jql and then based on the result email someone.
