I'm wondering if it is possible to configure permissions in such a way that some customers can only see one group within the same project?
For example, I have a project named Alpha. Within that project I have 4 customers: Alice, Jon, Mike and Alex. Project Alpha has 4 groups: Improvement Requests, Bugs/Issues, Report/Data Requests and General Queries.
Can I configure permissions in such a way that Alice could only see Bugs/issues, Jon can only see General Queries and Report/Data Requests, etc?

This doesn't exist out of the box with Jira Service Desk. There is an app(add-on) that will do it:
Extension for Jira Service Desk.
