Bula / Hello
a specific user who has a Macbook Pro and uses both Safari and Chrome, has been getting this error:
This site can’t provide a secure connectionatlassian.net sent an invalid response.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
The rest of our users use Windows 10 with IE or Chrome and they are working perfectly fine. Hence we need some help to resolve this. We have tried clearing the cookies for atlassian.net, with no luck.
appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Thanks
Joseph

I’ve run into this SSL error before on macOS too, especially when testing media and streaming platforms. Sometimes it’s just the system certificates or network cache causing it. After updating macOS and switching my test server to a VPS in Singapore, the issue disappeared — connections became stable for both Safari and Chrome.

Thanks for sharing that, good to know it’s not just a browser issue. I’ve noticed similar SSL errors when testing stream delivery on older macOS versions too. Seems like using updated certificates and a reliable VPS host really makes a difference, especially for media or video-heavy sites.

It seems this issue is limited to the MacBook setup since Windows users are fine. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR often points to browser/OS-level SSL settings — trying an update, checking system time, or resetting network/SSL certificates on macOS might help resolve it. I faced the same issue on this site and resolved the problem by adjusting the SSL settings and clearing the certificates.

I also got one helpful resource for the error solution, you can also check out the detailed article for the error fix at:- https://certera.com/blog/how-to-fix-err-ssl-protocol-error-in-chrome/.
