Hi All.

I would like to know if it is possible to create a custom field that when selected, it shows certain fields under it, example:

When field "Back Office" is selected, the below fields are to be shown:

Printer S/Number, Monitor S/Number, PC S/Number..

When field "POS" is selected, the below fields are shown:

Scanner S/Number, Scanner Type, Drawer etc.

Your assistance would be highly appreciated.

Hi Andile:

Here are a few options for you -

1) Create a custom field (Cascade Select field data type) - where you defined the parent and child option.  The only drawback is that it is a single select option - Example you cannot select multiple parents or multiple child options associated with one parent option.  This is an out of the box field data type.

2) Create two custom fields (either single select or mulit-select field data type), then you will need custom scripting (i.e. having Script Runner for Jira third party add-on to your environment) via their "behavior" component to control the option display.  From a functional lead's opinion that the add-on is an excellent tool for any Jira env to have.  https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/6820/scriptrunner-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

Hope this helps.
