How do I add the Edit function (pencil) to a label to a certain group?

Grant the group "edit" rights in the permission scheme.

Just to understand you right, do you want to allow this group only to edit this one label field and not the other fields, or what do you want exactly to do.

One of our groups does not have the "Edit" permission on the label Field.  We would like them to be able to edit.
