How do I tag a word in JIRA Service Desk?

Hello fellow JIRA user

 

I am fairly new to JIRA Service desk but would like to be able to TAG a particular word in the description which the customer writes

 

I.e. In the following text I would like to tag the word pathway and then pull that word into a JIRA Filter gadget in Confluence

"Please can I have the full pathway for each patient since 2020"

Can someone kindly let me know how I can achieve this?

Thank you for reaching out.

It's not possible to tag specific words in a text field to be considered when searching for issues in a filter, however, you can use the Labels field to achieve that same functionality. Labels work like tags in an issue, so you can add a keyword(s) as a label(s) to an issue to properly return them in a Jira filter.

Considering the example you provided in the question description, you can create a label "pathway", so all the issues using that specific label could be returned in the following filter query:

labels = pathway
