I am running a Service Desk Trial & i have setup a Service Desk Project.
Once a defect has been validated by a Service Desk Agent & it's confirmed that he bug is genuine & requires a development fix how do i assign the defect to the Development Teams JIRA Project backlog?
The design intention is that the Agent would use "create linked issue", targetting the project the development should go into.
Thanks Nic but if the issue is new do you have to create the issue in the backlog first then link it to the Service Desk ticket? Or does create linked issue create & clone to the Dev Project?

None of those apply really.
There's a link in the menu of the service desk issue. Click it, and it will ask what project and what to copy from the current issue.

Ok thanks. As I'm just running the JSD trial atm i haven't linked it to our JIRA Dev instance yet assime this is easy to do?

You don't need to. You should be adding JSD to your existing instance.
If you don't install it there, then you won't get any linking functionality beyond the simple Jira to Jira linking. You won't be able to draw developers into issues, automate responses and updates etc.
