How to create a custom automation and filter by reporter's email domain?

Trying to create a custom automation where the rule will filter by a reporter's email address domain (for example @gmail.com) then send the appropriate custom notification.

What is the correct syntax?

Tried using this but it is not accepting it:

reporter = "*@gmail.com"

The Atlassian Jira Toolkit Plugin  provides a custom field type "Domain of reporter"

Add a customfield of this type to your view screen ( to check it works) and make sure it has a text searcher. You can then search those custom fields directly with JQL (after doing a reindex).
