How can we hide the Knowledge base entry field on the customer portal without having to buy a plugin? We would like to hide the the display of the entry field until we have the KB ready for customer-use. Any suggestions?

Hi @rae edwards , This may not be possible natively. Here is the open Atlassian ticket for this, you could vote for. Also, one of the earlier community answers suggests a free app available here

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response. The free app "HelpCenter Corrector" managed to hide the knowledge base entry field from the customer portal.

Hi Rae,

Hope you're having a pleasant week.

As Kalyani mentioned, if the search bar is the entry field you're referring to, that will be there no matter if you have linked a space as a KB to JSD or not. This search field also has the ability to search past requests.

Since you're on the Server version of Jira Service Desk, you can try to hide the search bar using Javascript:

And as mentioned, the feature request to hide it is here:

  • JSDSERVER-2488 Option to remove the Search Bar in the Service Desk portals overview.

If you click Vote for this issue when logged in, you will automatically be added to the list of watchers and receive updates on its progress.

Regards,

Shannon
