In Smart Query, how to search if field value has a space.

So Smart Query works great if the values are all one word...like PEGASUS OPEN.  But one project has the status TO DO.  When I enter any variation of PEGASUS TO DO, it finds the project PEGASUS but searches the text for TO DO.  Is there a way around this?  Thanks.
