I use to format custom e-mails using the native automation funciont.
However, due to complexity, i needed to migrate som eof my rules to Automation For Jira and I'm having trouble to format the content with bold and colors.
Am I missing something?
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
I’m afraid this option is not available for Automation for Jira. The email uses HTML, so to format the email it’s necessary to use HTML tags.
There is a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability on Codebarrel’s Jira:
You can log in and vote for this feature.
In the comments, there is a workaround that may help you.

When Code Barrel joined Atlassian, did requests like email formatting get ported into the suggestion backlog for Jira? The above link still goes to the Code Barrel project. Thanks!
Best regards,
Bill

Hello @Bill Sheboy,
The feature requests created on codebarrel.atlassian.net are still valid and they will keep working on those features.
New features will be created on jira.atlassian.com.

Angélica

Even if we could use Markdown that would be cool. No need for a WYSIWYG.

I'm trying to do this now. I thought I could add my own formatted email. Using more than just html tags. Is this still in the works?

Hi @Mark Benivegna,
Thank you for reaching out to Community!
I'm afraid to say that currently, it's possible to format the email body with HTML only.
Besides that feature, there is a new one suggesting this improvement:
- New automation - email template is missing
Please, click on vote and also watch the feature above to receive updates.
