Is it possible to have dependencies between fields in Jira Service Desk

Candice Fowler December 12, 2018

I have 2 incident categories that I want to be dependent on each other.  for example, Main Category, Type, Sub Type.  So when Application is chosen out of the Main Category then only items pertaining to Application will appear in the Type field....and so on.

Take a look at the cascading select list custom field type and see if that will work for your situation.

:face_palm:

Of course, the cascading select field is a simple option as well. I only thought of the more complex cases.

Hi @Candice Fowler,

by default this is not possible, but you can extend such a behaviour with apps, e.g. Deviniti's Extension for Jira Service Desk.

Their documentation about dynamic forms includes details how to configure it.

Cheers,
Matthias.
