Jira Service Desk - Approval

I have to cover for someone who is out of the office.  The project was modified to have me as the approver.  However, it seems I can't approve tickets that are already submitted and waiting for approval because it has the person out of the office as approver.

Is there a way that I can approve the ticket?

Have you tried to edit the ticket? Maybe the "approver field" (or field setup for approval) can be edited.
