Jira handing ticket over to another Jira instance

Hi guys, I have been searching for some kind of answer to this but I only get old posts from 2012 etc.

I am looking at setting up something with one of our partners where they receive a ticket on their helpdesk and if they change a certain field on their instance it needs to automatically log it with our Jira instance.

The plan is to use the automation plugin for this.

  1. Is there an easier way without getting any of our developers involved?
  2. Since this is going to be a mail-based link between the 2 servicedesks, do you think the default mail handler would be sufficient?

The partner is running Jira Cloud and we are running our own in house Jira if that makes a difference. Both are on the latest edition.

Any idea or logic check here would be appreciated.

Be safe.

Kind regards,

Johan

Hello @Johan I suggest you explore apps like exalate or backbone sync to do this. These are apps meant for this.

Doing this with email handlers doesn't work great. It usually causes endless loops of emails and tickets creations on both environments
