Hi,
I am the JIra Service Desk ORG & SITE ADMIN, but I cannot see the project settings for a project another SITE ADMIN in my company has setup.
I'm new to Jira so it's probably something very basis which is wrong, but why on earth as the owner of the account cannot I not get into a project and HOW do I do that?
I have gone into my permissions and added my users to every group, and it's still not working, it just tells me:
You need to be a Service Desk Agent to access this page. Contact your administrator if you need access.
I AM the admin though!
Can anyone help please?
Hello Chris,
Thank you for reaching out to Community!
Just for you to better understand the permissions of an administrator, I would like to explain the differences between the main admin groups.
Site and Org admin: Has permission to manage users, products, and any other information on the User management's page.
Administrator: Can manage any Jira settings, but has no permission to access User management or Organizations.
With that said, you as a site administrator must add the group "administrators" to your profile and then, go to the projects' page and click on … on the right side and click on "Project settings".
When you are an administrator, but was not added to the project, that's the only option for you to access the settings.
Then, add yourself to the role "Administrators" in the project.
Hope this clarifies.
Regards,
Angélica
Hello @Chris_Brown
Welcome to the community.
This is by design. To have anything more than the Customer view of the service desk you must
- have access to the JIRA Service Desk Product
- be a member of either the Service Desk Team role or the Administrators role for that service desk project
The latter can be granted to you only by another user who has access to the JIRA Service Desk Product and is already a member of the Administrators role for that specific service desk.
