I'm looking to create a workflow with multiple workflow tasks where each task is completed by a different user. To assist streamline the process, I would love to find out if a couple of things work on the Jira System

1. Is it possible to assign a different user to a ticket based on the current workflow status?
example: "Stage 1" workflow task is completed by Jack, he is now finished so he will transfer ticket to "Stage 2" which John will complete.

2. Is it possible to include a brief checklist on the ticket for each different workflow status?
example: "Stage 1" workflow task has a series of tasks which Jack has to complete before sending the ticket to the next stage, to help Jack not forget is it possible for him to see a checklist on the ticket specific to "Stage 1".
The same goes for "Stage 2" which has a separate list of tasks to complete.

Thanks for any feedback

HI John,

Hope you are doing good!!

Below are the answers for your queries.

1. Yes it is possible to assign Jira to some one else automatically. For that you need to add Post function on the transition which is in between "Stage1"--> "Stage2". Here is the Post function you can use is "Update Field value" where you can choose John. So that when ever the issue transitioned from Stage1 to Stage2 ,Post function will trigger and assignee will get update.

2. Yes it is Possible, You need to create screen where you have to add required checklist fields. Once this screen is ready, you can this at transition screen. So when ever Transition is clicked this screen will pop-up.

Steps to add transition screen: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/map-a-screen-to-a-workflow-transition-in-jira-server-720634253.html
