Creating an Object in Insight from JIRA Servicedesk

Steve Pace May 6, 2021

We are testing Insight with JIRA Service Desk.

I have hit a wall, when I am trying to create the object from the JSD Portal .

I have seen conflicting information as to how to implement this, related to post functions or automation rules.

In the case of post function, i do not see the option of insight in the list .

In the case of automation i can browse to the schema, object type but i am being asked to provide a Name .

We are running JIRA Cloud.  We are also evaluating Premium.

What value should the Name have ? perhaps an ICL code ?

Hello,

Name is the attribute of your Object Type. You can click on the "Choose attributes to set" menu on Create Object action configuration and enable other attributes of your "User Provision Test" object type. Then, you will fill these fields with smart values. For example, the name field can be:

{{issue.reporter.displayName}}

Or if you are implementing an employee onboarding flow, then maybe you have a text custom field for the name of the new employee as "Employee Name". Then you can use:

{{issue.Employee Name}}

Please check the possible smart values you can use on this page.

I hope this helps.
