In my company we use Spreadsheet to maintain inventory.
Is there a way I can get an instance of Asset Management in JSM and learn and create a demo to maintain the inventory in my group, so that Management is convinced and uses JIRA Asset Management Plug In.
We use JIRA for task tracking
Assets is only available if you are on the Premium plan or higher. If you are not on premium currently, you could sign up for a new instance and try out the premium plan, that will give you 30 days to created the demo.
Hi Tania,
Are you using Jira Cloud or Data Center?
Either way, you will need to have Jira Service Management Premium license to work with Asset Management. There are lots of classes/videos that will guide you how to do the initial setup. You should go through some of those and have a good idea of how things work (create some notes for yourself as needed). When ready, the Jira Administrator can start a free trial for JSM Premium (assuming you don't already have it). Then you will have about a month to do the free trial and show the worth of the upgrade.

I agreed with @John Funk and @Mikael Sandberg suggested. Essentially, you must have an active JSM (not just Jira Software Application) as a product in your env to have the Assets component to be available.
Hope this also helps.
Best, Joseph Chung Yin
