JSD -> G Suite connection

Scott Morton July 7, 2020

We're currently trying to connect Jira Service Desk to our G Suite instance, but getting an error when attempting it:

"We could not connect your G Suite Instance - has already been connected to an organization."

We had used Jira/Confluence in the past, but it was the same domain name as the present one from what I've managed to uncover. Since I don't see an existing integration, not sure where to go next for this issue.

Found it. =) There are currently no domains listed/verified - I've got an empty list with the MX record there for me to copy/paste. So nothing is linked yet ... any suggestions for next steps?

Probably you will need to open a ticket to Atlassian support to find what organization is linked with your G Suite and see next steps

We're evaluating the product on the Free plan, looks like we'll need to have at least one paid license in able to open a ticket? If there are no other suggestions here, we might go that route.

You should be able to open a ticket to them using your evaluation with no issues.

Based on your error I'm not sure how to identify what instance is using your G Suite instance, and if G Suite allows multiple JIRA instances to integrate with it.

Maybe you lack the organization admin permission? When you look for your user, do you see both org&site-admin as below?

Check it out the organization documentation, this might help you

Thanks for the help in advance - I'm digging around looking for the Org page and not finding it (I'm brand new to the interface). We're currently on the default atlassian.net domain, not sure if that makes a difference.

Hi @Scott Morton

Check if you have added any domain verification for Atlassian site there in the Organization level.

You can access it from the Organizations page --> Directory --> Domains

If so, please delete the domain verification and then try to add the Gsuite integration.
